welcome chicks!

So we welcome Hannah 2 and Frankie into our cardboard box home, and soon into their massive fort knox style play palace in our yard.  May they fare better than Hannah 1.  It will take 4-5 months for them to start to lay eggs apparently... its like, quite a, sort of, commitment!

Either there is a problem with your naming, or one of those chicks may never lay eggs, but rather fertilise them!

Frankie was Indi's best friend in day care in oz... she misses him... she chose the names and I simply subtitled. In my mind the subtitle says that Frankie is short for Francesca :) I am assured by the breeder shop that they are both girls...heads will roll if they are not! (and it won't be my chickens!) This is the same shop that explained slooowwwly and distinctly, in answer to my technically oriented question, that the difference between layer birds and meat birds is that "one lays eggs and the other one you eat". Right.
