So on my birthday yesterday the angel greeted me cheerfully at 3.50am with a flat refusal to go back to sleep... I believe she did try... She dutifully lay in bed, tossing and turning and groaning and screwing up her pillow for quite some time...but wailed inconsolably when it didn't work. At 5am we gave up and got up to make mummy a "cutter tea"...
Mummy gratefully returned bed for a few more moments of shut eye when grandma made her appearance, and I was much more cheerful when awoken the second time by the angel bearing gifts. Our barren vine had borne one little fruit offering and the angel had practiced saying "passionfruit" all the way from the garden, only to present me gleefully with the round precious gift of "here mummy, a sack-a-crack!"
:-)
Sometimes I travel through the world, sometimes I journey within. Some travel has a destination, a goal, and some is simply about the joy of discovery. This blog keeps me company as I indulge my passion for exploration, my wanderlust.

birthday sorbet
Yum Yum
So we met a little friend for birthday treats yesterday and the little princess got to try her first non-dairy sorbet... mummy gave up any attempt at civilised dining etiquette and simply gave her the spoon, and she lapped it up! Half the scoop disappeared rapidly... but clearly it was in intense experience! This was the face made with every mouthful!

Our first parties!
So we went to our first birthday parties... first a Dora party to celebrate Isabella turning 3...and then a pizza party for Maddie turning 4.
I am not sure what Indi made of the adventure...but for me it was a beautiful moment of realising that fantasy had become reality. So many times in the past in my life I have looked in from the outside on kids' birthday parties...I have attended some, and seen many from a distance... and always I hoped and wished that one day I would take my child along, or better yet, have a party for my very own child.
And today that dream started to come true.
